Cabanas is the buffet restaurant on the Disney Wonder.  It is located at the aft (rear)  of Deck 9.  Read on for pictures of the layout, food and seating.

Atmosphere

Cabanas received a re-fresh when the Disney Wonder had a  dry dock re-imagining in late fall 2017.  This included adding some fun wooden wall art to welcome you to Cabanas.  Both entrances have scenes from Finding Dory.

At the start and end of service (less busy periods) only one side of Cabanas may be open for food service (although you can sit wherever you want). At peak periods you can enter on both sides, the food is the same on both sides.

Seating is available both inside and outside. As it is a buffet you can just find your own table.  Outside seating is on the very rear of the ship and is accessed from doors within Cabanas or stairs down from Deck 10.  There is also some seating outside on Deck 10 but it is not as sheltered as on Deck 9 (in other words it's very windy when the ship is in motion).

Expect a mixture of melamine and ceramic plates and mostly plastic glasses.  Napkins tend to be brightly coloured and although your table will be cleared for you it is mostly self-serve.

Breakfast

Expect to see the expected breakfast staples including the much loved Mickey Waffles.  We found that between breakfast and lunch that breakfast had the least variation.  In the hot dishes you will find assorted eggs, bacon, sausage daily.  The baked goods rotated, see a sample in the pictures below.  These included doughnuts, croissants, danish etc..   There was also usually a rotation of waffles, pancakes and french toast.  Always available was a selection of cold cereals, yogurt and plenty of fresh fruit. Coffee, tea and juice were also self serve.

Insider Tip:  If you  want to have milk in your stateroom fridge and don't want to order it from Room Service.  This is the time to pick it up.  There are small cartons of different varieties of milk (including chocolate) next to the cold cereals.

Lunch

Lunch at Cabanas includes a variety of both hot and cold options.  The cold items tended to stay fairly consistent throughout our 7 day cruise.  There was always a large fresh seafood bar that was a highlight of lunches for our family.  Lots of crab legs,  and shrimp but also shellfish.  Other cold items that were available daily included a variety of deli meats and cheeses.

We found that the hot lunch items changed daily with almost a different theme.  One day would be asian inspired, one day italian, one day mexican etc...   That being said there were also consistent items such as there was always a pasta  choice (just more pasta on italian day) there was always a carved meat, baron of beef, ham, turkey etc.. , there was always at least one beef and one chicken option.  There was always a rice dish.  Lets just say there was always something for pretty much everyone and we think they did a good job of adding variety considering it could have gotten repetitive given that we were on a longer cruise.

The desserts are a highlight of the food in Cabanas and it was hard to make a choice from the many options available in the case.  We won't judge if you get more than one.

Dinner

We did not go to Cabanas for dinner so we are unable to report back on what the dinners were like .  We ate in our main dining room every night as the food there was so great. From what I hear the food is good and can be especially small child friendly if they need to eat at a time other than your scheduled dinner seating.

Insider tip:  Don't forget to look for special times that Cabanas is open .  Ie) for a late night Pirate Buffet  on Pirate Night.  Check your Personal Navigator or the Disney Cruise Line App for information.
