By Jennifer Stuart Tiana's Place is the newest of the main rotational dining rooms on the Disney Wonder. It was re-themed during the Wonder's dry dock in the fall of 2016. Tiana's Place is located at the aft of Deck 3. The idea is that you are a guest in Tiana's restaurant in New Orleans. You will find lots of fun Princess and the Frog details in the theming. Atmosphere and ThemingThe old New Orleans feel starts as soon as you walk in the entrance. There is a rustic brick wall on one side and the windows on the other are shuttered with blinds so that you could almost forget that you are on a ship. The dining room itself is fresh in green and white with yellow accents. We had fun finding all the lovely little Princess and the Frog details such as the lily pad placemats and frogs on the plates.
The FoodThe Wonder is the only Disney Cruise Line ship that has a Tiana's Place restaurant onboard. So, as you would expect, the food is New Orleans inspired. Appetizers Our daughter really enjoyed this tomato soup but we were big fans of the seafood options for appetizers instead. Mains Of the mains that I ate the pork medallions was my personal favourite. The sauce was the perfect compliment to the meat and it was full of flavour. Kids Meals The kids meals are pretty standard choices. We are finding that as our kids are getting older they sometimes prefer to order from the adult menu. This is absolutely OK. They can also order a mix of items from the kids and adult menus. Desserts All the desserts here were really good. The pecan nut tart was one of my favourites, but Tiana will tell you to make sure to try her beignets. MenusWe have included photos of the menus from our meals at Tiana's Place. These include main menus, dessert menus and kids menus. Keep in mind these are for reference so you can have an idea of what sorts of food are offered. Actual menus change based on the season and itinerary. Our ThoughtsWe really enjoyed our meals here. The theming and the atmosphere were really fun particularly on the "Mardi Gras" night. The food was good with the desserts being a notable strength. This restaurant ranks first for both atmosphere and food for Doug and I would rank it as my second favourite for both food and atmosphere of the three main dining rooms on the Wonder.
