by Jennifer Stuart You may have heard a lot about Pirate Night on a Disney Cruise but not much about Frozen Night. One of the big differences when cruising to Alaska with Disney is that Pirate Night is replaced with Freezing the Night Away with Anna and Elsa. Read on to find out what you need to know about this event on your Disney Alaska Cruise. Frozen DecorationsThe atrium gets decked out in Frozen decorations which adds to the festive atmosphere and several times a day there are Frozen activities. Frozen ActivitiesThe night before the festivities you receive a letter from Anna inviting you to participate in her chocolate scavenger hunt. This is a fun activity that doesn't take too long and as you might expect the prize is chocolate for all the participants. There are also a few Frozen activities from Arendelle taking place a couple of times during the day. This one involves dancing with ribbons around the pole. The kids were really having a great time. Frozen GoodiesWhen you come back to your room before dinner you will find an official invitation to Freeze the Night Away with Anna and Elsa. You will also get a great light-up snowflake necklace that most people will wear to the party and kids will love to keep and play with under the covers. Frozen MenusWhen it is Pirate Night on a Caribbean cruise you will have a pirate menu on Pirate Night, in this case you will have a special Frozen menu no matter which dinning room you are scheduled to dine in on your rotation. Deck PartyThe highlight of the day is the Freezing the night away deck party. (in inclement weather this is held in the atrium) This kind of event is really what Disney does best. There is singing and dancing and a great character show featuring Ana, Elsa, Kristoph and Olaf. f course at the end of the show Elsa makes it snow. There is something that feels extra magical and atmospheric about cruising past the Alaskan scenery with snowflakes swirling around you as Elsa sings Let it Go.
