First off, I should tell you that I am not getting paid to write this post, but I do love helping people get stuff for free so I wanted to spread the word to other Disney lovers. My friend talked me into joining Disney Movie rewards several years ago and I am so glad that she did. Let me explain why it might be great for you too.
The idea of this program is to reward you with points when you watch Disney movies both in theatres and at home. Love Disney? It is great to be rewarded for what you are going to be doing anyway. I already know I am going to go see Disney movies. It is great that I can use those tickets to get free stuff.
What kind of rewards can you get?
The best rewards are based on the number of points that you have. However, you can also claim some rewards with no points at all. There are lots of options - from collectables and t-shirts to DVDs or posters.
The picture above shows a few of the no-points rewards. Below is a sample of some of the points-based rewards items. I really just picked shots at random from among the different kinds of rewards, so there are many more available.
How do I sign up?
Go to the Disney Movie Rewards website and sign up for an account. This only takes a few minutes. Once you have an account you can log in to add points codes from buying products such as DVDs. To get points from movie tickets. You will need to save your ticket stubs or the print outs from ordering your tickets online. Follow the prompts on the website and submit a picture with the special code you will be given. There is usually a maximum of 4 tickets per movie that you can earn points on.
How do I get more points?
You can earn points in a number of ways. Going to see Disney Movies in the theatre, and buying Disney DVDs, and music. You can also get points from Disney Movie Rewards monthly emails, and via their social media. Disney Movie Rewards frequently runs “specials” around different holidays (ie, Easter, Thanksgiving etc..) where they will release limited time points codes. Typically these will get you about 5 points each.
Disney Movie Rewards on Facebook runs the Disney Movie Challenge. Typically you can earn 5 points each time that you play per month. And it is fun to test your Disney knowledge!
What else can I do if I am a member?
Disney Movie Rewards also often runs sweepstakes. As a member you get one free entry and you can choose to use points to put in more entries. See rules for each contest for more information on that particular contest.
Can you really earn free stuff?
Yes you can! What you choose to redeem your points for is up to you, but the rewards can change fairly often. My friend has 2 boys who are really into both Star Wars and Marvel and she likes to redeem frequently for smaller items that she saves for stocking stuffers. I like to redeem for gift cards. Currently there are Starbucks gift cards for 1100 points but occasionally they have Disney gift cards as well. (In the past these have been 1100 points for a $10USD gift card).
