Do you love Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar or Grog Grotto? Want to have a taste of Trader Sam's at home? Read on for more information on how to make Trader Sam's tiki drinks in your own home.
We love Trader Sam's and have managed to visit both the Grog Grotto at Walt Disney World and Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar at Disneyland. You can read our Review of Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar on our blog. We also love having a taste of Trader Sam's at home by making our own Trader Sam's Tiki drinks. It is easier than you think with a little advance planning. (Make sure you have lots of ice on hand).

You can of course use any glass to serve your drinks in, but there are style bonus points for using your Trader Sam's souvenir glasses.
Many Trader Sam's drinks call for "Gorilla Grog." Here is the recipe for how to make Gorilla Grog at home.
Gorilla Grog - Ingredients:
We tend to mix up a jug and keep it at the back of the fridge for use as needed in tiki drink season, or when we are making for a group. Just keep the proportions the same (ie. 1 cup of each passion, orange, guava, pineapple juice and half cup of each lemon juice, orgeat and falernum) .
Insider tip: Gorilla Grog is non-alcoholic and makes a great fancy kids drink - we usually do 2/3 juice to 1/3 sprite or club soda and sometimes add a splash of grenadine for colour.
The syrups are definitely harder to find. I can get grenadine at the supermarket but the other two are harder to find and I've only ever had luck finding at specialty liquor stores or online. If you are ambitious you could also try making your own homemade orgeat and falernum as recipes can easily be found online.
For a little extra fun you can find the LED glow cubes on Amazon. These are a fun addition to almost any drink and as a bonus are re-useable.

Honestly, these and mugs are probably some of the souvenirs that we use the most.

Thanks! They really are. Give a recipe a try. And sadly these cups are only a small part of a larger collection. It's a problem.

Those all sound delicious. Honestly, anything involving POG juice is okay with me. We have been wanting to go to Trader Sam's for forever, but didn't think we could take my teenage son in there. Do they allow underage kids in there and serve kid friendly versions of the drinks? I'm guessing not. So..6 more years to go!
