Welcome Disney Friends

Who we are:

Hi!  We are Jennifer and Doug.  We are the writer and editor of Mouse and the Magic.  We have been Disney bloggers for almost three years. We are both  life-long Disney fans.  We grew up in families that loved Disney and we were lucky enough to go to Disneyland as kids.  Fast forward to us as parents and the time came for us to start taking our kids to Disneyland.  

Disneyland is our family happy place.  We love it and to for kids it feels a little like coming home as they have grown up in the park over the years.  Disneyland will always be our home resort and the place our heart belongs.

​Probably one of our favourite times was the Diamond Celebration at Disneyland as it was also the first time we became annual passholders.

A few years ago now my parents planned a ​whole family Disney Cruise to celebrate their 50th anniversary.   We got hooked on Disney Cruises and you will see that reflected in our blog. 

We recently celebrated our 20th anniversary and of course that meant a special Disney trip.  We took our first trip to the east to visit Disney World.  We had a fantastic time and managed to combine it with another Disney Cruise. (Told you we are hooked.) 

What is next for us?  Well that is still up in the air.  We do have a placeholder booked for another cruise and we would really love to visit Disneyland Paris as part of a larger trip to Europe and of course we need to go home to Disneyland.  Stay tuned to find out what adventure is next!

Why we started blogging

​I guess you could call it a mid-life crisis.  One day I just decided it was time to do something that made me happy.  Something that wasn't my work or our kids. I used to write back in the days before kids  and I realized that I missed it. 

There just isn't enough time for all that coffee.  We had become the Disneyland experts amongst  our friends, after all our trips.  Friends would call and ask us out for a coffee to help them plan their Disney trips or to ask for advice.  Soon it was friends of friends.  We just did't have time to go for coffee on a weekly basis.

When we looked for blogs we couldn't find ones based in western Canada that focused mostly on Disneyland.  Really the kind of information that a lot of our friends would be looking for. We thought having a blog would be a good place to keep all of the information and advice that we had for our friends in one place.  The funny thing is that most of our readers are not from Canada at all. The fact that people we don't know are reading what we write is amazing to us-- so thanks if you are one of them! We appreciate it.

One of the greatest things about being a Disney fan is the incredible community that we are part of.  We have loved making so many great Disney friends and are always looking to connect with other Disney fans.
