One of the ways to save money on drinks on your Disney Cruise is to order the Drink of the Day.  Read on to find out about what this is, where to find it and and how to save money on drinks with the Drink of the Day.

What is the drink of the day?

The Drink of the Day is a drink special that lasts all day and changes daily for the duration of your Disney Cruise. This drink can be ordered at any of the bars, from your serving team at dinner or from servers on deck near the pools.

How do I know what the drink is?

Of course you can always ask any server or bartender what the drink of the day is, but the easiest way to find out is to check the Disney Cruise Line App or read the Personal Navigator that is left in your stateroom every night. The drink of the day is written on the side of each navigator.  (Disney Cruise Line is beginning to phase out paper Personal Navigators but you can still ask for them from Guest Services)

What kinds of drinks are the drink of the day?

There are actually two drinks of the day.  There are both an alcoholic and a non-alcoholic drink of the day.  The non-alcoholic versions tend to be different kinds of smoothies.   The alcoholic drinks of the day tend to be fruity rum-based tropical drinks.  On our recent cruise to the Bahamas the drinks were Bahama Mama, High Tide, Mai Tai and Yellow Bird.

The Drink of the Day Cup

** online some people say that the souvenir cup is the same size as the disposable cups --staff say that it is larger.
Look for a drink of the day hurricane-style glass.  These are readily available during the Sailing Away deck party on the first day, and usually at other on-deck bars.  Buy the drink of the day (plastic) glass and you can get it refilled again and again.  Just ask the bartender to switch your used glass for a clean one that you can pop into your bag. The initial cost is  for the glass and drink together.  After that the drink of the day is $5.25 ($6.04 after gratuity). You can always order the drink of the day without the glass if you prefer and it will come in a disposable cup.
*** prices were accurate at the time of writing.

Unlike the Disney Cruise Line Beer Mug you will need to carry your glass with you  (there is no token to exchange it for), however, they will give you a clean glass to take away with you until next time.  give your glass to the server  or bartender and they will serve you a drink in a clean replacement glass.  At the end of the cruise the glass is yours to keep.

The New Cup

Disney Cruise Line has recently changed the style of the Drink of the Day cup. The new style cup has a little more stability than the older style hurricane cups.
Insider Tip: around the pool area the drink of the day is pre-mixed.  If you order at a lounge or bar it will be made to order (and tastes stronger in our opinion).
